Useful Tips to Getting the Most Out of Your iPhone or iPad

One of the characteristics that Apple takes pride in when it comes to their products is how easy they are to use. It goes for both the iPad and iPhone. However, there is more to them than meets the eye.

Yes, even beginners and kids can use the basic features of Apple products, but the variety of features and customization options available can keep fans entertained for hours. The following are a few features you may not have known existed.

Keep in mind that some of the settings, options, or features listed may not work for all models but only for newer ones.

Adding multiple face IDs to one phone

The iOS 11 introduced the face ID, which allowed owners to add more security to their devices. Through the device’s facial recognition system, users can unlock their devices and authenticate payments. Models such as the iPhone, Xs, Xs Max, XR, and the iPad Pro third generation, among others, have this feature.

Devices that ran with the iOS 11 operating system could only recognize a single face per phone. Additional users needed to enter a passcode to unlock the iPhone or iPad. With succeeding iOS updates, multiple users could be added to a single phone, much like how the touch ID was designed to recognize fingerprints from several verified users.

To access this feature, you need to go to Settings and tap on face ID and passcode. Once you have entered your passcode, you will be offered the option to set up an alternate appearance. Follow the instructions listed after that to add multiple users.

As previously mentioned, you can use the iPhone X or iPad Pro running at least iOS 12 to utilize this feature. Although recently discontinued, you can still buy iPhone X online in Lebanon or in other locations.

Customize call vibrations

People often put their phone on vibrate for a number of reasons. They could be in a meeting, watching a movie, concert or similar performance, or when traveling.

Putting the phone on vibrate mode reduces distractions while you are doing something else. It lets you know when somebody is trying to get in touch with you without turning your device into a distraction. However, how do you determine if it is a call that you want to answer?

In the past, vibrations were the same for each caller – whether it’s a call from your spouse or somebody you want to avoid. You may have spent time trying to see who it was before figuring out if it was a call worth answering. What if there were a way to distinguish the unwanted calls from those you were expecting?

In newer Apple devices running the latest iOS, you can. The iPhone, for instance, allows users to create custom vibrations and designate them to specific contacts. Think of the feature as creating your own masterpieces without being able to hear the notes.

To customize this feature, you need to tap on Sounds & Haptics under Settings. Once you’re there, select Ringtone then Vibration. Select Create New Vibration.

Under this feature, you can create your custom vibration by determining how many vibrations and how long they should be. Once you’re done, save this creation and assign it to any contact, just as you would with designating a ringtone. With customizing your contacts, you won’t waste any more time or attention with answering calls from people you don’t know or don’t want to know.

You can take it a step further by using the feature called “Silence Unknown Callers.” If robocalls or sales agents hound you on the phone, this is one feature you will genuinely love. Under the settings section, select Phone then toggle on the Silence Unknown Callers – it’s that easy!

Measure items

The iPhone is slowly replacing the tools you need for building projects. We’re not just talking about the calculator but measuring and leveling tools as well.

One of the niftier apps you may find in the iOS 12, and more recent updates is Measure. As the name implies, the app allows you to measure and get dimensions using your iPhone. With this app, you don’t need to scurry for a tape measure anymore!

Once you open the app, your device will instruct you to move the device to the starting point. A circle will appear with a plus sign. Press this button to add points; the app will then measure between the points you’ve indicated.

The Measure app also includes a leveling tool as well. Use it when you want to make sure that the shelf you are trying to install on the wall is entirely level.

Albeit convenient, the dimensions can still be off when using these tools. To be on the safe side, keep a tape measure and level nearby to confirm your measurements.

With these useful features, you may be more tempted to get an iPhone, buy an iPad online in Lebanon or at your nearest store. Try these out today!
